Generosity in Action: Giving Tuesday’s Lifesaving Impact

HSCC Community Raises Over $31,000 on Giving Tuesday 2025

Supporters of the Humane Society of Carroll County (HSCC) contributed $31,295 on Giving Tuesday 2025, part of a nationwide day of giving that encourages people across the country to support the causes they care about. Giving Tuesday has become a key moment for nonprofits to connect with communities, raise awareness, and secure funding for critical programs, and HSCC’s results highlight the generosity of local donors.

The funds raised will provide lifesaving support for the animals cared for by HSCC. Donations help cover medical treatment, food, shelter, and enrichment, giving each animal a better chance to heal and thrive while awaiting adoption. These contributions directly impact the daily care of animals in the shelter, providing warm beds, nutritious meals, and the second chances they need for brighter futures.

Donation matches played a significant role in maximizing contributions. Carol Coley offered a match up to $10,000, which was quickly met by the generosity of the community. Once that match was reached, Ken and Louie Mays extended an additional $5,000 match, further amplifying the impact of every gift received. These matching donations encourage greater participation and help increase the overall funds available for lifesaving programs.

HSCC relies on community support to sustain its operations. Each year, the organization works to provide medical care, shelter, and adoption services to hundreds of animals in its care, while also supporting programs such as Trap–Neuter–Return (TNR) for outdoor cats, educational initiatives, and foster networks. The generosity demonstrated on Giving Tuesday ensures that these programs continue to operate and expand, helping more animals find safe, permanent homes.

The success of Giving Tuesday 2025 underscores the strength of local support for animal welfare. The combined contributions of individual donors, community members, and matching sponsors demonstrate that collaborative giving has a tangible, lifesaving impact. Each gift directly improves the care and well-being of animals in HSCC’s programs, reinforcing the organization’s mission to save, protect, and improve the lives of animals in Carroll County.
