This program is a small way of saying thank you to the brave men and women who have served our country. By helping veterans welcome a devoted companion into their homes, we hope to provide the unconditional love, comfort, and connection that only a pet can offer.

Are Adoptable Dogs Service Dogs?
While many of our dogs are loving, smart, and well-behaved, unless a dog comes to us already trained as a service dog, dogs adopted from HSCC are not trained service animals. Each dog has the potential to become a wonderful companion, and after adoption, you are welcome to explore professional service dog training programs if you wish to pursue that path. Our goal is to match every dog with the right home where they can thrive and bring joy to their family.
